Inspiratie opdoen
Het is zo geweldig om alle enthousiaste reacties en foto’s te zien. Ieder van jullie doet zo hun best, waar jullie ook wonen en leven. Hoe inspirerend is het dat je dus door Instagram kan zien hoe men in India, Australie of New Zeeland hun eten stylen en op de foto zetten?
De maand juni stond in het teken van #onlyonebread Dit thema heb ik gekozen omdat het een vakantie periode was…en veel mensen wellicht op vakantie waren. Maar brood kun je overal krijgen, juist in Italie of Frankrijk heb je prachtige broden bij de bakker liggen.
Maar veel mensen hebben super mooie broden zelf gebakken, zuurdesem brood, focaccia brood met tomaten en groentes. En wat dacht je van de actie foto’s met bloem en deeg? Zo super tof, dank jullie wel allemaal.
Gaining inspiration
It’s so great to see all the enthusiastic reactions and pictures. Each of you is doing your best, wherever you live. How inspiring is it that you can see how people in India, Australia or New Zealand are styling and photographing their food through Instagram?
The month of June was dominated by #onlyonebread This theme I chose because it was a holiday period … and many people may have been on holiday. But you can get bread anywhere, especially in Italy or France you have beautiful breads at the bakery.
But a lot of people have baked super nice breads themselves, sourdough bread, focaccia bread with tomatoes and vegetables. And what about the action photos with flour and dough? So super cool, thank you all.

En nu…op naar donuts! Voor deze keer mag je meerdere donuts gebruiken. Dit omdat het zo fijn is om te spelen met meerdere donuts met de compisitie zoals de foto hierboven.

Foodstyling tips om donuts op de foto te zetten
- Maak zelf donuts met rozenblaadjes of pistache nootjes..maak je eigen glazuur..
- Koop donuts die je eigenlijk nooit koopt dus juist door de felle kleur.
- Ga dus uit uit je comfort zone, zie het als een proef om te kijken of iets bij je past.
- Je hebt vast een plek in huis waar je normaal altijd fotografeert. Zoek nu een plek uit waar je eigenlijk niet vaak foto’s maakt bijvoorbeeld het keukenraam, de schuur of de slaapkamer. Wellicht kom je erachter dat op andere plekken ook mooi licht kan zijn.
- Maak een setting klaar en maak een foto in de ochtend, middag en avond. Kijk hoe het licht en de schaduwen vallen en wat het beste past bij je foto.
- Zoek een nieuwe foto achtergrond; stof, de keukenvloer, een houten plank. Iets wat je nog niet eerder hebt gebruikt.
- Wees je bewust van je compositie bijvoorbeeld met het maken van een flatlay. Hoe leg je de donuts neer, in welke lijn?
Foodstyling tips to take pictures of doughnuts
- Make your own doughnuts with rose petals or pistachio nuts…make your own icing…
- So buy doughnuts that you never actually buy because of the bright colour
- So get out of your comfort zone, see it as a test to see if something suits you.
- You probably have a place in the house where you normally always take pictures. Now find a place where you don’t really take pictures often, for example the kitchen window, the barn or the bedroom. Perhaps you will find out that in other places there can also be beautiful light.
- Prepare a setting and take a picture in the morning, afternoon and evening. See how the light and the shadows fall and what suits your photo best.
- Find a new photo background; fabric, the kitchen floor, a wooden plank. Something you haven’t used before.
- Be aware of your composition for example by making a flatlay. How do you place the doughnuts, in which line?
